Hi guys,

Here I am again…after a terrific weekend around Toronto and Niagara Falls.

We went on a trip with an Chinese Travel Agency (the cheapest!) and got a recycled school bus to travel on (great adventure, good fun!)

Our travel AgencyThe group at school (440 Albert St l)Glebe Collagiate (one of my future High Schools)our recycled-re-used coach…CN Tower (553M, Toronto)Niagara Falls (Horseshoe Fall)

Now back to school again…This is our 2nd week at Albert St where we attend a course on educational matters ( Canadian school system, Balanced literacy…) Next Friday we’re visiting our 1st High School, as we’re going to be in 2 different ones. I’ll tell you about!

Yesterday, I started attending Tai Chi & Qigong classes from the Continuing Education Program for adults. I’m also thinking about signing up for  Reflexology and some international cooking. I even thought about some Chinese Mandarin…

So far, I think Canada is a HUGE & MULTICULTURAL country, where NATURE is UNIQUE!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys               My new houseSchool bus
How are you doing there?
Here I am…Still recovering from jet lag!
So far the weather has been great! The 1st 2 days around 30 degrees ( Ike’s influence!!!), really hot and weet! Now, quite cool in the mornings but gets around 23-24 later. According to the weather forcast, we’re expecting a beautiful weather for our weekend in Niagara Falls & Toronto.
Navarran teachers in Ottawa(Fall)
My family is originally from Hong Kong but they’ve lived in Canada for more than 20 years…A good example of Canadian diversity!!! Angelina, my landlady, who works part-time in a bank, is really sweet and good cook! She usually cooks Cantonese at home! Really tasty…Nothing to do with our Chinese restaurants over there!!! She has an 18-year-old daughter, Claudia, who’s studying a musical career in Toronto. She’s really good at piano, a real artist! Then Victor, the son, a 14-year-old teenager who studies grade 8 (DBH 3.maila) and likes sports and computers. Pinchiu (called PC) is the dad, he’s an electrician engineer and loves computers, too. Finally, Angelina’s mum, aged 81 is leaving tomorrow to Hong Kong after spending 3 months in Canada with her daughter and we’re having a farewell dinner tonight.
This is all for now  Bye, Arantxa

SAN FERMIN

2008 Urtarrila 9 at 13:18

San Fermin is the best party in the world. On the first day, on 6th of July, we celebrate the “txupinazo”. On the second day, it’s San Fermin´s day. San Fermin is one saint. On the third day, it is the best day for young people. This day is the day for the “peña” (big group of people who wear the same shirt). The fourth day it’s the day of the children. In the afternoon there are different childrens’ games. And on the last day, 10th of July, it is the day of the married people, and at night, we celebrate “pobre de mi”. It is a farewell.

This day, is a benefic act. It is always celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of October; this year it was on 21st of October. It is benefic because it is to raise money for Basque schools.

The day started at nine o’clock more or less, and finished at around nine o’clock; so, the party lasted for 12 hours. In the morning when people arrive there, they start walking by the way.

In the way, there are seven different areas, where there are different concerts during the day. You can choose which you prefer and you can go and listen to it.

There are not restaurants, so if you don’t want to buy there any sandwich, you have to take one from your home.

This day is so beautiful for Basque people, because you can meet people from other places and you can become their frieds.

Saint John Bosco’s day

2007 Abendua 19 at 13:18

Saint John Bosco is a party celebrated in our school.

This day we do many things like football championships or a show…

In the show students take part acting, doing different things, like imitations, dances…

Saint John Bosco day is the last day of school before the Christmas holydays.

Students love this day, because it is a very hapy party.

But the party doesn’t end after school, people after school stay at the bars and dances.

Only our school celebrates the Saint John Bosco’s day.
